Who We Are:
Rescue K -911 is a non-profit, no kill, and all volunteer run animal rescue service in the Midwest. We do not currently have a rescue facility, so we rely on the kindness and generosity of animal lovers like you, who donate funds/items, and who open their hearts and homes to help us take care of our furry-friends that desperately need a family to call their own.
Our mission is to rescue pets that have been left with no other option. Rescue K-911 is their last chance at life. We provide an opportunity for pets that are out of other resources to find new homes. We rescue our animals from gas chamber shelters, kill-shelters, and hoarding situations. We also take in animals when their current family is no longer able to care for them. We believe that every pet deserves a loving family.
What We Believe:
Rescue K-911 believes that no matter what their size, shape, or story, all animals deserve the chance to live long, happy, and healthy lives. That’s why we work hard every day to be a lifeline to a better future for these pets. Because we know that with a little support, people and pets can build a bond unlike any other, creating happier lives for all involved
What We Do:
Each animal that enters rescue is unique and may have it's own distinct needs (medical, behavioral, or psychological). As a group, we strive to recognize and address these needs as they arise.
In general, we spay, neuter, microchip, vaccinate, administer heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and provide any other medical care that the animal requires. We care for them in foster homes until they are adopted into the loving forever homes they need and deserve!
While in foster, the animal learns how to live with a family; what it's like to be loved, how to play, and what behaviors are acceptable. We also gain insight on the animal's true personality once the animal becomes comfortable in it's foster home, which helps us know what forever home will be best suited for that particular pet.
During the adoption process, we pride ourselves on finding the right fit for the right family. We require completion of a detailed application, we perform vet and reference checks, and, at times, visit the applicant's home. We encourage trial periods for our older animals, as it may take them longer to adjust. We assist with introductions and continue to provide any needed support after an adoption is finalized. Happiness for the animal and the family is our overall goal!
Let us help you find the best friend you've been searching for, the best friend that needs you more than you know.
